Giving Back: My Jumpstart Fundraiser

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities helps kids facing financial and accessibility barriers access sports and play. Since 2005, they’ve helped over 2.4 million kids across Canada get involved in activities like swimming, soccer, hockey, and dance. Jumpstart’s programs include:

  • Community Development Grants. These grants help organizations who provide programming for kids between the ages of 4-18 in financial need or youth with disabilities between the ages of 4-25.
  • Individual Child Grants help families that need financial assistance to get their kids into a sport or physical activity.
  • Girls in Sport initiative. By providing opportunities for girls to stay engaged in sport, Jumpstart helps girls grow their confidence, build relationships, and become strong leaders in their communities.
  • Inclusive Play works to break down the barriers that kids with disabilities face when accessing public play spaces.
  • Program Grants for Canadian Paralympic Committee to create greater opportunities for children and youth with disabilities.

I have been extremely privileged all my life to be able to participate in sports and recreation, and Jumpstart emerged as the absolute best fundraising partner for my English Channel Swim. If my story has inspired you at all, I would encourage you to consider making a donation to this most excellent cause. 100% of your donation goes directly to helping kids access sport and play.
